Our heritage

Originally established in 1921 by W.L. Baillieu and his siblings as an entity to deliver accounting and trustee services for the Baillieu family, we have grown and adapted over the decades to respond to the demands of a changing world.

Today, Sage Stone has 56 employees and is the trusted partner to several hundred of Australia's wealthiest families and individuals.

Sidney Myer (1878–1934) was one of the most visionary and philanthropic entrepreneurs Australia has ever known. After arriving from Russia in 1899, Sidney built a commercial empire that remains a household name today.

Dame Merlyn Myer née Baillieu (1900–1982) was the matriarch of the Myer family. Merlyn was a distinguished philanthropist, Board member and advocate for the wellbeing of women.
